Aashima spearheads Healthcare solutions for Google Cloud. In this role, she sets the direction for the transformative Healthcare solutions and leads engagement with healthcare key executives in helping transform their business strategies that define new models for care, revenue generation and improved patient experiences. By incorporating strategic technology elements of artificial intelligence and Cloud technologies into the care regimen, she strongly believes that patient care and experience can be substantially improved.

Patrick Conway, MD, MSc, joined Optum in February 2020 and serves as the CEO of Care Solutions at Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group. He leads a portfolio of care continuum businesses with over $30 billion in annual revenue serving over 50 million people across acute and post-acute care, care in the home in-person and virtually, mental and behavioral care benefits and delivery, broad population and complex disease health management, specialty care, and government health services.

From 2017-2019, he was President and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina leading the organization to be recognized nationally for innovation, value-based payment, and investments in better health outcomes.

From 2011-17, Conway served as Deputy Administrator for Innovation and Quality at the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and as Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) and the agency’s Chief Medical Officer. He also served as Principal Deputy Administrator and Acting Administrator of CMS. Before joining CMS, he oversaw clinical operations and quality improvement at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He remains a practicing pediatric hospitalist. A respected leader, innovator and clinician, he was elected to the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) in 2014, received the President’s Senior Executive Distinguished Service award, and was a White House Fellow in 2007-08. Dr. Conway received his M.D. with High Honors from Baylor College of Medicine, residency training at Boston Children’s Hospital, and Master’s of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Sara Vaezy is a research scientist turned healthcare management expert with over 20 years of experience. She is the EVP, Chief Strategy and Digital Officer at Providence, leading system strategy and digital innovation for the integrated delivery network (IDN) which includes 52 hospitals and 1,085 clinics and serves over 5 million unique patients.

She’s responsible for the ongoing development, and evolution of Providence’s integrated strategic and financial plan and internal cross-collaboration as Providence continues to advance toward and design the system of the future.

Prior to this role, Sara spent time at The Chartis Group, a health care management consulting firm, where she advised clients on enterprise strategic planning, payer-provider partnership, and the development of population health companies. Sara graduated from the University of California Berkeley, and earned her Masters at The University of Washington’s School of Public Health.

A former Sports Illustrated senior writer, Epstein authored or co-authored several of the magazine’s most high-profile investigative pieces, including the 2009 revelation of Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez’s steroid use. He has master’s degrees in environmental science and journalism from Columbia University, and was twice NCAA All-East as an 800-meter runner.

Alex Oshmyansky is the Founder and CEO of the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company. Alex founded the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company after being incensed by the skyrocketing costs of generic drugs for his patients.

Alex graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder at the age of 18 with a BA in Biochemistry. He went on to earn an MD at the Duke University School of Medicine and a PhD (DPhil Oxon) at Oxford University in Mathematics as a Marshall Scholar. Alex completed a surgical internship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School. He went on to a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in pediatric radiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Alex then served as an adjunct faculty member at the Stanford University School of Medicine and continues to practice as an emergency radiologist.

While in grad school, Alex founded a startup dedicated to reducing the rates of nosocomial diseases in hospitals, Altitude Medical. That company has been continuously operating for over 14 years.

Aaron Martin is Vice President of Healthcare at Amazon, where he works closely with partners to make healthcare more convenient, engaging, and valuable to customers.

Prior to Amazon, Aaron was Executive Vice President and Chief Digital Officer for Providence, and Managing General Partner for Providence Ventures (PV). There, he led marketing, brand and digital for Providence, and co-founded and led Providence Venture’s $300M venture fund.

Aaron joined Providence after a previous career with Amazon, where he worked on the Kindle e-reader, self-publishing, and print-on-demand platforms.

Aaron’s interests outside of family and work are diverse. He played drums for “Dragged and Dropped” a Seattle cover band, now lives in Nashville, and is always pursuing a part time music career. Aaron is a passionate Seattle Sounders and Manchester United fan.

Caitlin Donovan is the Global Head of Uber Health. She joins Uber most recently from MyOrthos, an Orthodontic Services Organization, where she served as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, Caitlin developed her knack for tackling obstacles to patient care as Chief Operating Officer of Circulation and Executive Vice President of Operations at LogistiCare (now ModivCare), specialty benefit managers in the non-emergency medical transportation space. She also served as the Vice President of Operations at CareCentrix with a focus on home health and post-acute care. Early in her career, she worked in finance as an investor at Bain Capital and as a member of the internal consulting group at Summit Partners. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University and lives in Dover, Massachusetts with her husband and two boys.

Amy is an executive on the Global healthcare and life sciences solution strategy team, serving as the global solutions leader of their rapidly growing health plans business. She leads the vision, strategy, and execution of the industry product strategy. Amy drives business transformation innovation with emerging products leveraging Google’s industry leading interoperability, analytics and AI/ML capabilities. Amy works with leadership of global strategic clients, resources across Alphabet and partners in the cloud eco-system to create solutions improving end user experiences and value, operational efficiencies and positive social outcomes.

Amy serves as a featured speaker throughout the industry at organizations such as HIMSS, AHIP, Matter, HealthImpact and the Alliance for Innovation in Integrated Healthcare. Recent speaking topics include delivering on the patient experience, leveraging technology to bridge healthcare inequities, women in tech, emerging innovations in healthcare and meeting compliance and security requirements through use of cloud technology.

Amy has an undergrad degree from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA in technology and strategy from Loyola University of Chicago. She has served on the ULC and San Francisco Boys and Girls Club Boards, is on the National Make-a-Wish Board, the American Health Association Chicago Heart Ball Board and serves on the Advisory Board to the Dean at Loyola University of Chicago.

Dr. G is Salesforce’s Chief Medical Officer. She’s a rheumatologist and nationally-recognized leader in health IT, bridging the divide between clinical medicine, business, and digital health. As a Board Member of the American Telemedicine Association and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, she helps steer decision-making at some of the nation’s most influential medical organizations. Her work and expertise have earned her appearances on CNN, PBS and been featured in CNBC and the Huffington Post.

In his role at Shoppers Drug Mart, Jeff oversees the enterprise-wide strategy to provide a digitally connected healthcare solution for Canadians, making care convenient and seamless. His team is responsible for a number of efforts to make healthcare more accessible to Canadians, including the introduction of the PC Health app, investments in virtual care through Maple, the expansion of the retail brand to The Health Clinic by Shoppers and the acquisition of Canada’s leading physical therapy clinics, Lifemark.

Jeff serves on the Board of 2 Digital Health startups: Maple and League, and is an active contributor to industry associations, including acting as past Chair of the NPAC Board of Directors
for several years.

In 2019, Jeff was recognized as Chain Drug Review’s 2019 Retailer of the Year. A proud native of Moncton, New Brunswick, Jeff is a licensed pharmacist and has worked in the
hospital and generic pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors prior to joining Shoppers Drug Mart in 2008 as Director, Category Management. Jeff holds a BSc. Pharm. from Dalhousie University and M.B.A. from Université de Moncton.

Michael Palmer is the founding chief executive officer of Exhale Advisors, focused on strategy, M&A, digital transformation and innovation commercialization. Prior to founding Exhale Advisors in 2017, Michael served Aetna as its Chief Innovation and Digital Officer for five years, driving clinical, technology and digital innovations into the healthcare ecosystem serving Aetna’s 37 million members. Prior to Aetna, Mr. Palmer was a Partner/MD at Accenture, where for nearly 20 years he served health clients in information technology strategy, post-merger integration, and global transformation programs.

Mike Butler has over 30 years of experience across a range of senior executive roles in the healthcare industry. He was formerly President of Providence, where he helped to create the third-largest health system in the U.S., increasing revenue from $2 billion when he joined in 1998 to $25 billion today. Mike also served as Providence’s CFO and COO, with accountability for ambulatory and hospital operations, finance, strategy, technology, digital innovation, clinical institutes, population health and people development.

Mike Serbinis is the co-founder and CEO of League. Previously, he was founder and CEO of digital reading company Kobo, the only global competitor to Amazon’s Kindle. His transformative career as an entrepreneur, engineer, pioneering technologist and investor includes founding and growing DocSpace—a messaging service that ran one-third of the world’s email. Today, Mike is a member of the Board of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, the Board of the Creative Destruction Lab, the Board of Trustees at the Ontario Science Centre, and YPO.

Tracy Saula is the Senior Vice President of Product & Health Experience for Highmark Health, a Pittsburgh-based national health and wellness organization and the second-largest integrated health care delivery and financing system in America. In this role, Tracy is responsible for leading the teams that develop health plan insurance products, revolutionize the digital experience, and design solutions aimed at optimizing the health care journey and experience for customers and clinicians.

A passionate health executive with a broad array of experiences and successes at the health plan, provider, and integrated level, Tracy has a proven track record of developing new strategies and leading efforts to bring those strategies to life.

Zoe Philippides is a senior biopharmaceutical executive and with deep privacy, legal, strategy and compliance knowledge. Zoe oversees the global ethics, compliance and privacy programs at Moderna, with a focus on strategically enabling the business to deliver on its objective in an increasingly fragmented privacy landscape. Prior to joining Moderna in 2022, Zoe served as the Chief Ethics and Privacy Officer, at Anthem (Elevance Health) and the Chief Privacy Officer at Amgen, where she evolved their privacy programs to support their company mission and patients around the world.

Highlighted as an “influential woman reshaping health IT” in March 2018 by FierceHealth, Sarah Sossong is an expert in digital health, an experienced healthcare operator, an angel and venture capital investor, and an active participant in local and national efforts to advance the adoption of digital health, women’s health, and the role of women leaders in healthcare, technology, startup entrepreneurship, and investing.

After successfully pioneering large-scale health systems innovations from concept to enterprise in the US Navy, Kaiser Permanente, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Partners Healthcare, Sarah expanded her focus to venture capital. From June 2018 to December 2019, Sarah worked as a Principle on the investment team of Boston-based Flare Capital Partners, a Boston-based healthcare technology venture capital firm focused on full life-cycle investing in early stage digital health startups. In October 2019, Sarah joined Portfolia as an angel investor, then, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sarah brought her knowledge of digital health to the Massachusetts based Commonwealth Care Alliance, where within a matter of weeks, she led the organization’s efforts to convert 35% of traditional face-to-face visits to virtual care, while concurrently working with the organization’s corporate venture capital arm, Winter Street Ventures, to evaluate and invest in startup opportunities.

Sarah earned her master’s degree in health policy and management at the University of California at Berkeley and graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a BA.

Mack McGee is the Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, a leading multi-line, not-for-profit healthcare company offering a comprehensive portfolio of health insurance products through its affiliates and subsidiaries and administrative services to 3.6 million individuals and employers in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia.

Mack is passionate about aligning a company’s mission and core values to the experience they provide customers and communities through thoughtful and intentional communications, further nurturing relationships and overall support of the individuals and communities an organization serves.

He is responsible for leading CareFirst’s marketing functions, including communications, branding, advertising, public and media relations, and customer experience and insights.

Mack has nearly 20 years of industry experience helping businesses define their voice and value, bridging the gap between brand, customer experience, sales and marketing to drive new and meaningful growth for organizations.

As the Managing Director and General Manager of Fitbit Health Solutions at Google, Amy leads the team working with employers, health plans and health systems to design solutions and programs focused on engagement, positive return on investment and health outcomes. Before her role, Amy took on several key positions leading Fitbit’s B2B efforts. Prior to Fitbit, Amy held strategic roles at CNET Networks, including Director of Audience and Content Development for the Community Division and Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Network. Amy has a bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College in Andover, MA and a Professional Certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications from the UC Berkeley Extension program.

After 4+ great years as the Chief Medical Officer and Executive VP of Gelesis, I have decided to leave the company to pursue my passion of helping innovative healthcare companies create, build, and commercialize innovative solutions to improve the quality and cost of healthcare at scale – within a high growth and profitable business model. I am looking forward to joining the executive team of an innovative healthcare company using digital/telemedicine or novel medical device technologies to impact care and improve patient outcomes.

My previous executive role at Walgreens Boots Alliance provided me with a global opportunity to leverage a unique platform to impact the 6 million customers who visit a Walgreens store each day, as well as the 2 million customers who interact with Walgreens digitally. I helped lead the development of programs to provide telemedicine and digital health to Walgreens customers as well as the development and deployment of an industry leading healthcare app.

I have also served on Boards and the Advisory Boards of multiple digital health and biopharma companies including: Redesign Health, League, Alto Pharmacy, Mobile Help, TytoCare, PureTech Health, and Alivio Therapeutics.

In earlier roles working for health plans, population health companies, a healthcare market research firm, and a speciality lab, I served as the most senior clinical leader and spokesperson interacting with providers, integrated delivery systems, payors, legislators and CMS – and I routinely gave many speeches at national healthcare conferences. Through my ability to build high performing services and teams, I positively impacted sales, market share, and corporate profitability for each company, while improving the health of millions of people with chronic conditions.

Paul is President of HealthSparq and Kyruus where he leads the joint company’s core business operations. Prior to this role, Paul was the Chief Growth Officer for Sound Physicians. He was also with athenahealth for eight years, where he served in a variety of roles including General Manager for the Enterprise business unit and Head of Sales. Paul earned his BA in economics and psychology from Northwestern University, and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, with concentrations in finance, strategy, and entrepreneurship.

Cary Grace is the Chief Executive Officer and President of AMN Healthcare Services, Inc., (AMN), joining the company in November 2022. AMN Healthcare is a leader and innovator in healthcare workforce solutions, empowering the future of care. Ms. Grace is a transformational leader with 30 years of experience developing and executing profitable growth strategies for leading financial and professional service organizations across human capital, healthcare, investment management, finance, and M&A.

Ms. Grace previously served as the CEO of Global Retirement, Investment and Human Capital at Aon, a business that provides risk management, retirement, health and human capital consulting services. Her background also includes more than 20 years at Bank of America and JPMorgan, where she led several national businesses and functions. Ms. Grace holds both corporate and nonprofit board positions, including State Farm Insurance and the Rush University Medical Center Board of Trustees. She is a passionate supporter of diversity and inclusion efforts.

Ms. Grace holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, where she was a Baker Scholar, and an MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.

Ashis Barad, MD, is AHN’s chief digital officer. He came to Pittsburgh in spring 2022 from Baylor Scott & White Health, a 52-hospital system based in Dallas, Texas. Most recently, Dr. Barad served as clinical lead for Baylor Scott & White’s Digital Health Office, managing the office’s general data analytics and spearheading the network’s digital health and virtual clinical strategies.

As chief digital officer, Dr. Barad now leads AHN’s efforts to deploy technologies that extend the reach, access, and effectiveness of AHN’s clinical care delivery, enhancing both the patient and clinician experience relative to electronic health records, artificial-intelligence-powered data analytics, wearable devices, and other virtual tools and platforms.

He also guides AHN clinical informatics efforts and its MyChart optimization.

A pediatric gastroenterologist by training, Dr. Barad received his medical degree from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and completed a pediatrics residency at the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin. He completed a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Northwestern University.

He is happily married with two young children. His passion for medicine started when he developed typhoid fever at the age of 8 in rural India with no access to health care. He wants to bring wellness and health care to every corner of the U.S. and meet patients and members where they are.

As the Chief Analytics Officer at Highmark Health, Richard focuses on delivering innovative data and advanced analytic solutions that fulfill Highmark Health’s mission of creating a remarkable health experience, freeing people to be their best.

Richard initially trained as a Neuroscientist and Biophysicist. Since moving out of academia, his experience includes large-scale data/ analytic transformations, building and scaling advanced analytic products, and building and managing Data Science teams. Richard is passionate about delivering business impact through advanced analytics, growing leaders that connect analytics to the business, and building diverse teams.

Richard arrived at Highmark in 2016 to assume the role of Vice President, Advanced Analytics and Reporting. Prior to that time, he was at McKinsey & Company for 9 years. While at Highmark, Richard has led several Analytics teams as well as Product, Clinical Services, and Human Centered Design. In 2020, he moved into the Chief Analytics Officer role, overseeing all Data and Analytics for Highmark Health.
Richard holds a B.S. in Neuroscience from Allegheny College and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC), a joint program between CMU and the University of Pittsburgh. During his doctoral work he studied under Dr. Jon Johnson and published 4 peer-reviewed articles that utilized a mixture of wet-lab research and kinetic modeling to investigate the functioning of NMDA receptors.

On a personal note, Richard and his wife, Shauna, have been married for 16 years and live in the Pittsburgh area.  They have 2 children and 1 very loved dog.  When not at work, Richard enjoys golfing, fishing and reading fantasy novels.

Kathleen is an award-winning, high energy, engagement expert with over twenty-five years of experience. She speaks regularly on the national stage on many topics including: driving consumer health engagement, creating better consumer experience in healthcare, motivating and inspiring consumers, and using data to drive consumer behavior. As Managing Partner of Engagys, Kathleen brings the best of consumer marketing and data-driven methodologies to healthcare to motivate better health decisions. Engagys is a healthcare consultancy lasered focused on consumer engagement and experience.

She has been recently named as a consultant to the first ever FDA Patient Engagement Advisory Committee (PEAC).

Doug Johnson was the recipient of the Experience Management Award recognizing the “top creator of experiences” in the U.S. by the authors of The Experience Economy. His experience design leadership career includes seven years in healthcare, 11 years in destination retail, four years leading a marketing agency responsible for creating the world’s Happy Meal Toys, and five years in baseball, including four years with the Chicago Cubs. He was hired as Edward-Elmhurst Health’s first-ever Patient Experience Officer. Doug is passionate about teaching leaders and teams how to create personal and memorable experiences for everyone they serve.

Sarah is the Vice President of Product at League. She brings nearly two decades of healthcare technology experience and expertise across providers, payers and health tech companies.

Sarah is committed to building game-changing products for healthcare that allow consumers to feel empowered and confident about their healthcare decisions. She is passionate about building product teams who are experts in their fields and are similarly determined to change the healthcare industry.

Prior to joining League, Sarah was the Chief Product Officer at Quartet Health, where she developed products aimed at tackling the nationwide mental health crisis and providing access to high quality mental health care to patients and members across the United States.

Frank McGillin is CEO of The Clinic by Cleveland Clinic. The Clinic is a joint venture between Cleveland Clinic and Amwell with a vision of expanding access to the world’s best healthcare expertise through digital technology. Frank’s leadership experience spans more than 20 years of general management, marketing, and innovation roles at Philips, Johnson & Johnson, and digital health startups, with expertise in launching and scaling innovative, global businesses at the intersection of healthcare and technology.

Previously Frank was Chief Commercial Officer at NeuroMetrix, where he launched a new digital health business addressing the chronic pain epidemic where he established partnerships with GlaxoSmithKline, CVS Health, and Best Buy. 

Frank held several General Management and senior leadership roles at Philips driving increased growth through innovation and organizational redesign. Frank’s experience also includes high-growth consumer health brands. He developed the strategies that grew Sonicare® from a professional niche to a global brand with sales exceeding $1B and led several Rx to OTC switches at J&J.

Frank is a graduate of Northeastern University and holds an MBA in Finance from Fordham.

Kerry Weinberg is the VP of Data at League. She leads all data analytics, data science and data engineering efforts to enhance League’s FHIR-native data platform. Her team focuses on developing and deploying machine learning models that produce personalized recommendations to users on how they can best engage in their health journey and works closely with clients and partners to empower them with data-driven health engagement solutions. Prior to leading data at League, Kerry led data science and engineering for digital health and innovation at Amgen. Her education began with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and continued with a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Biological Engineering also from MIT as part of the Leaders for Global Operations Program.

Brian is the President and Chief Operating Officer at League. He brings more than 20 years of healthcare industry experience to his role at League, where he leads the strategic development, market positioning and business expansion across the country. Brian is a passionate advocate for transforming US healthcare by empowering people to take control of their health and wellbeing. 

Before joining League, Brian was President and COO of WellTok Inc., a leading consumer health enterprise SaaS company. He led the ultra-high-growth tech company through its early-to-mid development phase. Brian was also Executive VP of Healthcare Services and Strategic Execution for Premera Blue Cross, a leading health plan in the Pacific Northwest. Under his strategic leadership, Premera rose to become one of the most successful and innovative health plans in the country, serving clients like Microsoft, Starbucks and Amazon. 

Brian holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and BBS, summa cum laude with honors, from Boise State University.

Jess Tschirki is the VP of Design at League and leads the practice across both product and brand. She brings an incredible amount of experience with over 20 years building teams that create world class digital brands and phenomenal products. She is hell bent on changing healthcare for the better, by creating inclusive and intuitive experiences that enable people to make smarter decisions about their health and care. Prior to joining League, Jess was the VP of UX at Rally Health, helping people meet their goals through member experiences that drove engagement in their benefits, personalized programs, and care/condition management. Through Jess’s tenure, the company expanded, growing from nascent stage start-up to becoming the backbone of the digital Health and Care experiences for Optum and UHC.

Amanda is the VP of People & Culture at League, where she is responsible for human resources partnership and programs, learning and development, and people communications. She has over 20 years of experience in HR teams at global technology companies and has led numerous efforts to scale organizational culture as teams grow and evolve. Amanda is passionate about helping teams unlock their potential through engaging and developing talent at all levels and coaching leaders to design strategies that have positive results for both the business and its people.

Amanda holds a Bachelors degree in Management from Santa Clara University and a Masters in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco.

Naomi has 15 years’ experience as a strategy, sales and delivery professional, with a focus on helping Healthcare companies develop and execute growth and transformation strategies that leverage consumer-grade technology. Specifically at League, Naomi and her team work closely with senior leaders at major healthcare organizations (payors, providers, pharmacy retailers) to refine their digital transformation strategy and determine how League’s consumer experience platform can help them achieve that transformation. Naomi has a BComm from UNSW in Australia and an MBA from the London Business School.

Andrew is League’s Chief Growth Officer. His focus is on driving growth through strategic initiatives and partnerships.

Before League, Andrew’s experience has been at the intersection of software, technology, and healthcare. He was previously part of the leadership team at North, a high-technology company backed by Intel, Spark Capital, and Amazon. He also worked in business strategy & operations at Google and was a Senior Manager at Monitor Group (now part of Deloitte) where he advised Fortune 500 companies on strategy, corporate development & growth.

Andrew is passionate about psychology, mental health & Canadian entrepreneurship – and is an active investor in disruptive technology companies including Avro Life Science, Lilia, Citizen Hex and Ada Support.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
